The State Highway Administration (SHA) kept its promise. The state-owned land between Russett and the Red Crown Inn was cleared and cleaned late last week. Residents recently met with the SHA to address concerns and asked officials to clear overgrown vegetation and debris from the area. State Delegate Mike Rogers applauded the SHA on its responsiveness to community concerns. "It's a great example of the community, local businesses, and government cooperating to fix a concern. I'd like to thank Kimberly Tran's team for getting the work done in short order," said Rogers.
Devin Tucker, one of the residents who met with state officials last week also complimented the SHA on its responsiveness. "I'm very impressed with Ms. Tran. She promised that the matter would be addressed immediately and she exceeded my expectations. This is the first time in years that the area back there has looked so presentable. It's a big plus for the community to have this done and completed. I think we all appreciate both Ms. Tran and Delegate Rogers for getting this resolved."
The SHA also cleaned out and expanded a storm drain on the property to prevent flooding and has promised to monitor the area more closely to prevent similar problems in the future.
